This unusual vase blends the predominant French Art Nouveau taste for natural forms and Japanese influenced glazes with Renoleau's training in the hyper-realistic animal forms of Palissy-ware. Lustrous silvery blue-gray drips of clay cascade down from the rim of the vase, marked by highlights of bright blue and green; a pair of snails in the same lustrous glaze standout against the the lower half of the vase in a variegated deep red and purple glaze.
