The zoomorphic design combination inkwell and pen tray evoking an octopus-like form, the inkwell having stylized relief scroll design decorating the scalloped foot, which supports the reticulated frame with hinged top. Extending from the inkwell is an elongated pen tray with matching decoration at tip. The bronze is finished in a rich brown/green patina. The inkwell has a non-Tiffany gold iridescent glass liner. Impressed firm's mark and number on the underside.
