Dating from the 1920s, this is an exceptional example of Tiffany Studios’ “Paperweight” line of Favrile Glass, in which finely articulated natural designs were encased within a thick clear layer of glass so as to appear to be suspended in space.

In this vase, which showcases the Tiffany glassblowers’ mastery of the innovative technique, the clear body is decorated with an allover motif of swirling tendrils and vines in translucent purple, scattered with white millefiori flowers featuring pointed petals and bright green rounded leaves.

This fine example of Tiffany glass is signed on the underside and retains its original affixed paper label.
