Press Release
The Metro Show will replace the American Folk Art Museum’s esteemed The American Antiques Show with a presentation that is more global in viewpoint, while maintaining a core group of specialists in American material. We will expand to include examples of the best in 20th century design, modern painting and photography. Visitors can expect a diverse range of materials, offered by approximately fifty nationally and internationally recognized dealers, who are known as experts in their field. The fair will illustrate the intellect, beauty and vision in American arts and design, while placing it in a more modern and international context. Our goal is to broaden the appeal of the fair for a new and younger audience while renewing the interest of the loyal attendees, who, early each year, flock to the Metropolitan Pavilion.
Visit Lillian Nassau LLC at stand 501 to see a selection of objects spanning a century of design including work by Louis Sullivan, Tiffany Studios, Axel Salto, George Nakashima, Harry Bertoia, Gertrud and Otto Natzler, and Paul Evans.
On Saturday, January 21, from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Dr. Martin Eidelberg, esteemed Professor Emeritus of Art History at Rutgers University, will be signing copies of his landmark publications, published by Lillian Nassau, Tiffany Favrile Glass and the Quest of Beauty and Tiffany Favrile Pottery and the Quest of Beauty at stand 501.
